Owner Penny Kring Receives Merits

Owner Penny (Heath) Kring recently competed in a photography competition hosted by Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Penny has been a member of PPA for 17 years. The International Photographic Competition (IPC) is held annually, and members may submit several works to be scored by a panel of judges.

Two of the images Penny submitted in this year’s competition received scores deserving of a Merit. Pale Beauty and The Next Generation were critiqued on how well they meet the organization’s standards for a merit image. Penny says that “competing really helps me to improve my art,” and believes that learning is a life-long journey that she loves.

Class of 2018 Models Create Vision Boards at Photography Studio

On June 9th, some of the Be Brilliant senior ambassadors gathered at Heath Photography’s Redwood studio to build vision boards. Several of them also brought friends and family along. Each model cut out images and words that represent who he/she wants to be and what they want to bring into their life.  A vision board is used to help clarify, concentrate, and maintain focus on a specific life goal.

The models who attended the Singer Castle overnight photo session a few weeks prior finally got to see the images from that shoot- they were revealed before everyone delved into creating their vision boards. This group of senior ambassadors get along really well and they look forward to all the get-togethers that the studio is able to offer them with the modeling program.

This year’s seniors who attended include (front row L>R): Ethan Fish, John Wrobel, (middle row L>R) Lindsey Bradley, Ali Moore (Brooke’s friend), Maddi Regan, Emma Henry (Olivia’s friend), Kiana Conger, Alyssa Johnson (Kiana’s friend), (back row L>R) Cassie Pryce, Brook Costigan, Jordan Snyder, Olivia Monroe, Kaila Jock, & Michelena Price (friend of Kaila).
